Clix Addict HeroClix Issue #1I'm always looking for new things to add to this site... well, new fun things. Today I'm happy to announce the launch of CLIX ADDICT a brand new online PDF magazine focusing on HeroClix.

In this voyage launch of CLIX ADDICT, we've got:
•Clix Craves: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
•Top 5 Annoying Things Players Do
•S.T.O.P.P.
•Artist Spotlight: Geoffrey Borgonia
•Scenario: Warriors 3 vs Zombies
•Clix Addict Word Search

And, of course, the exclusive preview of the LOKI dial from the Hammer of Thor Fast Forces set.

As if that wasn't enough, our friends at Miniature Market has provided a special promotion code within CLIX ADDICT itself!

I've always said that HeroClix World is your best place for original HeroClix content, and I take that very seriously. With 3 new articles, an Artist Spotlight, a Word Search, and a new HeroClix Scenario, I'm sure CLIX ADDICT will have something for everyone.

As an extra bonus, I'll give away a free MIGHTY MAP later today to one lucky CLIX ADDICT reader.

Your Comments:
I like the site, but it really needs to be updated. Especially with sets like TMNT and Star Trek out.

Can't wait to read the next one. *hint-hint*

As a new player the STOPP article was a good read. I've only been playing for a few weeks and always looking for ways to improve my team or skills.

Is this a annual on-line magazine? Perhaps you need to gather some other writers. Alot of topics out there to discuss. Ideas: playing DC teams/characters in a Marvel based tournament(KA Infinity Gauntlet). Playing multiple pieces of the same character that is not a GRUNT. Winning at all cost and how it effects your reputation as a player.

@calvin: LOL. Because I'm the only one working on it -- I do a good bit of the writing, all the imaging, all the editing, and all the layout.

I wasn't aware that there was any other HeroClix magazine out there.

A fast Forces pack of the Tnhumans, we need a new Black bolt

Posted by: Walt Sault on 7/27/2011 10:44:28 PM
@Warriors 3 vs Zombies: For the purpose of Balance, yes. However, if you want a challenge, you can give the Zombies 6, 8, 10, or 12 Actions per turn -- I fully approve.

Posted by: The Le on 7/17/2011 8:21:47 AM
Are the zombies limited to the 4 actions when playing solo?

Posted by: Warriors 3 vs Zombies on 7/17/2011 8:00:04 AM
Malakai: Charge, Toughness, and Exploit Weakness.

Posted by: The Le on 7/5/2011 5:19:34 AM
What powers does the zombie have. Im reading the zine on a kindle and its in black and white :(

Posted by: Malakai on 7/5/2011 12:26:38 AM
Nice feature on the Bayan Knights. Hope you could continue featuring more Pinoy superheroes in future issues! :)

Awesome! Been missing a good read about Heroclix related articles. Thanks The Le :-) 2 Thumbs up!

@Kragnorak: Sorry, but I intentionally kept the Mighty Map freebie rules vague. I gave away a free map to the first person who posted a comment here on this article. Looking below, VIKING was the first person to post a comment WITH an attached email address, so VIKING won the map. I've already contacted him and sent out the map via snail mail. Thank you.

I like the zombies vs. Asgard scenario. I have one of my own, Dawn of the Mall of the Dead:

Pick a 'shopping mall' HeroClix map (a couple older ones fit this theme nicely) or a generic urban environment such as The Museum.

While I like the idea of a horde of generic zombies, I prefer to use those zombies that were produced for HorrorClix (and perhaps zombie Wolvie or Spider-Man).

Either way, start play with an amount of heroes adding up to 100 points more than the value of the zombies. For example:

Solo play: Heroes - 600 pts; Zombies - 500 points (or 32 3-click zombies)
Two players: 2 teams of 600 pts; zombies as above...

Now sprinkled the crowded mall liberally with shoppers (bystander tokens)...
Final setup step: Place the zombies so that they are attacking from atmospheric directions.

Order of movement: Shoppers, zombies, heroes (order determined as normal if multiplayer).

Shoppers: Shoppers are paralyzed with fear, and act fairly stupid (like in zombie flicks) and therefore move only 1 square at a time, away from the nearest zombies.

Zombies: Attempt to attack and eat as many shoppers as possible - the beeline for them and attack as normal when they reach them (shoppers get Defense 13 if using tokens or horrorclix civilians).

Zombies do not attack Heroes unless pinned and no shoppers are in reach.

Any civilians bitten rise as Zombies 2 turns later.

Players: The goal is to rescue as many shoppers as possible. Each player should have a designated safe zone. Heroes with telekenesis can use that as normal. Heroes that can have the Carry ability can use that as normal, as long as they start the turn adjacent to a shopper. Heroes without those abilities can only Escort. A Shopper can move his full movement range towards the safe zone as long as a Hero is walking next to him.

Winning the scenario: The winning player is the one with the most saved shoppers. In case of a tie, the winning player is the one that has Kn

Out of curiosity, how do we enter the drawing for the Mighty Maps?

I just ordered Mighty Map #3 at Miniature Market a couple days ago, but it's not coming until September... 8(

Also I'm not sure if its possible but could you have it so its not in a Zip file? I can read Pdf files on my phone but I have to hook it up to my computer at home to unzip it.

Posted by: Wizard Of Id on 7/1/2011 4:44:38 PM
I love the new Idea. How will you tell who has read it or not though?

Thanks Le - Yet more great content from heroclixworld.com.

Posted by: Phyl on 7/1/2011 2:39:02 PM
I am hopelessly addicted to Clix, so this is perfect. While waiting for the next edition, I will refresh heroclix.com until a new preview shows up while talking to my best pal, Batman.

@Rwhitl: I have no plans to continue the Clix Craves TMNT article. If I do, I'd likely hire a freelancer to write a part II to cover the bad guys... or something like that... Hmmmmm....

Posted by: The Le on 7/1/2011 11:51:38 AM
@Matt Denzler: I am certainly going to try. All my old software stopped working on my new Windows 7 box, so there were a number of things that I couldn't get quite right -- including bookmarks and hyperlinks. I hope to improve the Clix Addict with each issue in the future.

Posted by: The Le on 7/1/2011 11:48:08 AM
As a side note. Can you add a hyperlinked Table of contents on the next issue?

Posted by: Matt Denzler on 7/1/2011 11:43:49 AM
I have tried various magazines on my ipad. And yours is by far the best. your format is just perfect. Reading is a charm. The pics are perfect. and the hyperlinks for the ads such as minature market and mighty maps are great. and its free! Just fantasic!
thanks!

Yay. Great stuff. Most of all pleased to see Loki, my fave Asgard. And those Mighty Maps look great. Thanks.

Posted by: Catherine on 7/1/2011 10:11:15 AM
Great Job on the Magazine! I very much enjoyed the first issue.

Posted by: Ben Gavel on 7/1/2011 9:38:19 AM
I am officially addicted to Clix Addict. That issue was great. After reading •Top 5 Annoying Things Players Do. I realized my judge does 4 out of the five. he doesnt own a cell phone. Ha! But seriously people keep the dice on the table and for gods sake shower!

Just found your webpage and love the mag. At last a non-firewalled clix page. I think i'm in love (less than)3 :)

Posted by: Mantis Warrior on 7/1/2011 8:32:30 AM
Wow, what a fabulous first issue! We've been needing something like this since Critical Hit rolled a crit fail. I love the refresher course on STOPP, and the great article on the fantasy Turtle team. I rather like Option 1 for the Team Ability. However, Michelangelo's Flurry is a tad too powerful. How about, "Can use Flurry as normal, or may attack up to FOUR opposing figures, but must take TWO action tokens at the end of the action." To be nerfed by Willpower, of course. Can't wait for Issue 2!

Posted by: MuskieLodge on 7/1/2011 8:31:38 AM
@The Le - thank u for the information, just checked him out and he looks pretty good

Posted by: Jeris on 7/1/2011 7:30:35 AM
@Jeris: Do you have the Facebook App installed on your cell phone? If so, head on over the the official Wizkids facebook page -- The LOKI Image/dial has been uploaded there!

Posted by: The Le on 7/1/2011 6:44:56 AM
Well I have to say this sucks cuz I've been waiting for the Loki dial and now I can't see it cuz I get online with my phone and it's telling me I can't download this file, I don't have Internet or a computer at my house

Posted by: Jeris on 7/1/2011 6:39:48 AM
Nice length to the mag. Yeah TMNT was great when first printed and then like 2-3 months later it was so popular they went into 2-3 printings back then was unheard of :)

Posted by: scourge101 on 7/1/2011 5:59:34 AM
Clix Addict is awesome I have been waiting for this since I started coming to this site. I really hope we get Turtle clix. That would be great. Great site I always come here for my updates and I tell my clix where I find the latest all the time is on this site. Keep up the great work!

Posted by: Viking on 7/1/2011 5:55:16 AM
Wow, great job The Le. I really enjoyed the articles, especially the TMNT clix one, awsome team abilities and powers on that. Are you planning on continuing that with the powers for the other characters you listed?

Posted by: Rwhitl on 7/1/2011 5:19:03 AM
Disclaimer: HeroClix World is not affiliated with Miniature Market or Mighty Maps (Adventurer's Atlas). They just like to give away free stuff to our readers. We don't see a dime of their sales.
