HeroClix Dark Knight Rises BaneThe film is still as dark and gritty as you would expect, but it definitely transfers into a more improbable space than the previous films. For instance, Bruce Wayne has seemed to let himself go in the last 8 years. When he first appears on screen he appears to be a mere shadow of his former self and is even dependent on a cane to get around. Yet, he easily leaps a few floors out of a window to pay a visit to a hospitalized friend a few short segments later. Another concept that asks the audience to suspend belief is a ploy masterminded by Bane.

Using Bruce Wayne’s fingerprints, (acquired early in the film) Bane and his mercenaries storm the stock exchange and bankrupt Mr. Wayne. Wait a second… the stock exchange gets overrun by a hostile force complete with gunfire, hostages and very dramatic chase sequence. Multiple people witness the invaders monkeying about with the computers and within 12 hours Bruce is Bankrupt?! Wayne Enterprises must have the world’s lousiest team of corporate lawyers since Dewey, Cheatem & Howeon retainer to let that pass.

Cliché moments are also more abundant than usual. Having the hero pierced in the side by a dagger only to sit still doing absolutely nothing while the villain explains their hidden agenda just feels a little too contrived. Another moment appears in the form of taking a time-out to share a slow wet kiss, with less than 2 minutes to stop a nuclear bomb from leveling Gotham City.

Am I also the only one who noticed that even though 3,000 police officers were trapped for 3 months, they didn’t gain any facial hair during their imprisonment? If I seem to be focusing on the flaws, it’s only because I can’t recall any of these types of moments in either of the previous films; not sure how they slipped by this time around.

Good review. Should be added that this movie has the best Live Action version of Catwoman to date. Hope you're paying attention, DC/WB!

Seth your almost correct.
In Batman Begins, Bruce Wayne turned 30. You can see this in the scene where Rachel gives him the arrow head to him then leaves for the Narrows. There is a banner in the back for Bruce that says 30 on it. So if he is 30 in Begins. Mean he was 31 in The Dark Knight, and 39 in The Dark Knight Rises.

Youth shouldnt have anything to do with it. I could be way off, but I think Bruce and Bane are around the same age in this movie.

In Batman Begins Bruce comes back for the trial of Joe Chill, still being in college/graduate school. I'd put him around 25 (plus or minus a few years). He then leaves for the middle of nowhere and is trained by Ras al Ghul for 7 years, putting him near 32. In TDK, the Joker says "Wind the clocks back a year...", so we can assume Batman has been around for somewhere around that time, putting him at 33 or so, and then DKR is 8 years later, putting Bruce someplace in his late 30s to early 40s, depending on how long you want to say he was at Princeton before BB.

In the flashbacks in DKR, Talia-kid looks to be no more than 8 years old (to me anyway), and Bane is several years older than her, probably at least 15, maybe closer to 18. In the present of DKR, Tahlia looks like she might be late 20s to early 30s, even on the short end is somewhere near 20 years, making Bane somewhere in his mid 30s to early 40s.

Yes, he is strong cause of his cause and his training, but his youth have nothing to do with it. Bane isnt significantly stronger, it's just that Bruce is out of shape, lol.

Tikiphantom I'm pretty sure in this Bane was just strong due to being strong, he had a cause, training, and youth. The mask was purely for pain releival from what I heard.

Robin/John Blake was a dumb name but a great surprise for those of us expecting any Robin to be Greyson. I thought it at least half a clever twist and he was more like Batman beyond than Robin really. It was nice not having it all by the book. The 2nd took just as many liberties and wasn't quite as good.

Really a fun movie all around and did a great job of reinagining while Stating close enough to the spirit of the material. Great movie, I can't recommend it enough.

As a comic book fan I despised the film. As an avid movie collector I thought it was alright. The thing that pissed me off the most was when Batman broke his back and they write it off as nothing. He gets tied up in a rope abd has to stand for 3 days!!! WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!!

Well the only thing i have to say (negitively) about this review is that IRL the corts of law take a very long time to reach a settlement/have a case taken up by a court so in that aspect the bankrupting of Bruce Wayne is realistic. Otherwise yeah this is a great review of a great film.

The Avengers had fun wrecking the city unlike The Batman Rises,
taste the dust, feel the despare, watch the rumble in the rubble, try to understand the Bane mumble......ENTERTAINING!!!???
WELL YES!

I thought the movie did a great job of handling a almost hard to believe story line. Hathaway and Levitt are hightlights to the film. Hardy's Bane does a James Bond villain works. I just have a problem with his mask powers to make him strong. He needs it suppress his pain he has in face. How does that make him strong? All in All I liked the film. Great Ending to a Great series!

It wasn't perfect, but it was a good enough ending to the series.

Loved that the storyline pulled from knightfall and no mans land. liked the ending, but "robin blake?" thats lamer than the batman and robin movie. They should have went with Dick Grayson. Over all, enjoyed the movie

Just saw it the other night. Really enjoyed it, felt it was a little longer than it needed to be, but was good all the same.
