Combating Dracula
If you find yourself facing Dracula, if you win the map choice the obvious thing to do is pick a map with the least amount of hindering terrain. Even if your characters will benefit from Stealth this is a still a good idea. Remember Dracula has to move in carefully or risk being mowed down by ranged attacks. Powers like Penetrating/Psychic Blast and Ranged Combat Expert will do just fine and Stealth busting powers or team abilities work particularly well against him.
The Mystics team ability is also useful against him; he may not take Mystics damage thanks to his Steal Energy trait, but the Mystics TA will effectively cancel his Steal Energy powers at the very least. Characters with the combo of Running Shot & Pulse Wave are probably your best bet, but then again aren’t they always? Lastly, if he lands on those Regeneration clix, be sure to press the attack even if you have to push to do so, you don’t want him coming back, trust me.
Conclusion
Even at 214 points Dracula is extremely formidable. When you combine his colorful combat dial with flight, Indomitable, and 11 clix of life, Dracula is… well, a monster; both figurative and literally.
Amusingly, Dracula and 2 vampires come to an even 300 points. Normally, I’m a little put off by teams with no ranged capabilities, but on the right map this trio of terror may just have a solid chance at victory.
