HeroClix Classic Battles: Empror DoomDr Doom has captured and weaponized the Purple Man. Using the Purple Man's mind altering powers, Doom has set himself up as the leader of the world. A group of heroes has overcome the effects and launches an offensive to free the world of Doom's influence.

CLASSIC BATTLE RULES
This is a "classic battle", and requires a specific set of figures to play. Everything you need to play is contained on this page!

Player 1, HERO TEAM: 400 points of "Hero" characters.

Player 2, DOOM TEAM: You must have 1 character: Galactic Guardians 019 Dr. Doom. If you do not own this character, you can print the dial out, found on page 2 of this scenario.

The Doom team will also need Doombots printed, which you can find on page 2 of this scenario. All Doombots get the COORDINATED ASSAULT trait, found on the lower right.

The Doom team also begins the game with 10 Doombots.

Map: Any Indoor Map of player two's choice.

Emporer Doom HeroClix Scenario Doombot DialSPECIAL RULES
The following Special Rules apply to this scenario:

Endless Doombots:
At the start of the Doom team's turn, if there are less than 5 Doombots on the board, roll a d6 and subtract 2 from the result (minimum 1), and place that many Doombots in the Doom team's starting area

You too now serve Doom:
If at any time during the game one of the Heroes' characters makes a critical miss, they become part of the DOOM team after the actions resolve.

Purple Man's Crystal Cage:
At the beginning of the game, the DOOM team player places 4 special terrain markers in any map corner - all four markers must be adjacent. Each of these markers can be destroyed by a close or ranged combat attack that is not a critical miss. (Individual attacks must be made against each marker). If you do not own special markers, we recommend using coins or shot glasses. Note that that when a cage is destroyed this way, it becomes hindering terrain/rubble.

VICTORY CONDITIONS
The Hero Team and Doom Team have different victory conditions as follows...

Hero Team: Destroy all 4 special markers of Purple Man's Crystal Cage.

Doom Team: KO your opponent's force.

PRINT AND PLAY
The Dr. Doom dial and Doombots are available for printing on page two.

HISTORICAL OUTCOME
In "Emperor Doom", Dr. Doom takes over the world... with relative ease. He eventually gets bored and relinquishes control.

Your Comments:
In the comic Wonder Man was the first hero to challenge Doom and he recruited Hawkeye and Vision. So you try and play a team with that combo instead of the FF

@ Mantis

Glad you like it. That is indeed the Wasp next to vision. Now get a buddy and play it and let us know what you think. ;)

Excellent well-resourced article Eric, thank you for your time and effort. I fancy building a team based on the image you used (the comic cover not the classic sculpts in the action shot. What is that Hulk?). Great excuse to use the ols Sinister Mockingbird. Does anyone know who the female hero in yellow and blue next to the Vision is? Looks like Shadowcat to me but could be Wasp in one of her many, many outfits!

@ Superfriend: what you just said about the FF in the GG set. THAT! All of that. Yes please! Will sell my own granny for that!

@Grim
After getting the alt FF from IH, I was just not excited about the LE FF line up from GG and didn't bother to get them. I was super excited about the Future Foundation because I had missed the CA set and not pulled the SR FF members from GG.

Which reminds me, we really need a updated Human Torch. Maybe the FF are in GotG and we just don't know it. Maybe even an FF team base and a Fantasti-Car.

@ Superfriend
well the Future Foundation does add up to an even 300 points so they can recruit a 5th member.

the alternate FF from IH is an even 400.

the LE FF from Galactic Guardians is 480 so no go there

and a classic lineup with Mr Fantastic and Thing from GG and Invisible Woman with Human torch from CA comes out to 500. so another no go for 400.

@LE,
I really like the 3D aspect of the Doombot tokens. For future consideration, I wonder how hard it would be to devise a page layout which would make the Doombot pictures fold into a pyramid, square on the boom, but triangular on the sides, maybe even with flaps to tuck into each other.

OK - check this out: http://www.korthalsaltes.com/

Not sure of their point total, but there are a couple of interesting groups you could pit against doom here.

1. The Future Foundation Fantastic Four (the LE prize figures from Chaos War).

2. The alternate FF of Wolverine, Mr Fixit Hulk, Ghost Rider and Spiderman from the IH set.

3. And of course the actual FF from the Secret Invasion starter set, which do add up to 400 points.

All 3 would be kind of thematic and at the same time, because they all have the FF keyword, they would trigger Doom's healing trait, making defeating him more problematic.
