Much needed stealth busting for the sealed with this set. In constructed pair him with Invincible Iron Man 65 point Rescue for a perplex (to jump that late dial Attack to a 10), TK (for positioning), and support (to bring him back when they club him like a baby seal with that 16 defense.) Don't forget to toss in the Stark Industries ATA for some anti-team ability action,(well, if he had outwit...)

Blue Marvel has potential to be great depending on which other characters get the Mighty Avengers trait. If all of them are high point super-rares his usefulness will plummet. :(

Posted by: MantisWarrior on 7/9/2015 11:51:49 PM
Gotta agree that War Machine's attack is pretty low at the end for 200 points. He is definitely a top dial figure with thrown in powers to support his first special attack power.

Posted by: Lord Logan on 7/9/2015 11:31:58 PM
So... Yellowjacket, if I'm reading this right I can take him at his fifty point start line and then morph into the 75 point Chaos War Pym (in golden age only?) To gain a heap more clicks of health. Could be useful.

No Pym beats the ant man boxed set ones so far for me though, despite my need for that new Giant Man sculpt.
One serious problem though us that Giant man hasn't got the Initiative keyword. Hecas the headmaster of Avengers Academy!

Posted by: MantisWarrior on 7/7/2015 11:48:59 PM
War machine hits 200 points at last, putting him in iron man's category and... He's a bit of a disappointment IMHO. There are so many great cheap versions of the character that this one would need to be stellar. There is some nice power synergy with the triple targets but overall maximum damage output feels a little low for me. Cool way of doing the 'pick an attack power' mechanic though.

Anyone else notice that Hercules on the card is a mirror image of the figure? Lol

Posted by: Lord Logan on 6/1/2015 3:25:02 PM
This Hercules is amazing. I agree with MantisWarrior. It's about time we get a serious Hercules piece. Fans of Hercules like myself have been waiting patiently. The ones from past sets were not powerful enough at all. Look forward to getting him.

Posted by: Kung Fu Master on 6/1/2015 1:26:28 PM
That Hercules is a serious beast. Great synergy with the smash blocking and pick up objects powers. His lower start line is none too shabby either.

Can't believe they've made MODAM. Welcome to Clixhopeville: population, all obscure comic characters ever.

NINJA'D

Will, like fliers, Great Size characters can move through enemy squares. The Trample SP works just fine.

Posted by: Rurouni KJS on 5/27/2015 10:31:47 AM
Will: Giant Size characters have Giant Stride, which allows them to move through squares occupied by or adjacent to other characters.

Posted by: James on 5/27/2015 10:24:14 AM
Does Goliath have ignore characters? He'd need it for Trample to do any good.

Posted by: Will on 5/27/2015 6:09:05 AM
From Enhanced Growth Potential: "When he does and he makes and when he makes a close combat attack..."

Posted by: ChippyYYZ on 5/26/2015 3:13:42 PM
Goliath brings us another great Pym option. I think I like him best at his uber-supporty 50point line. Everyone adjacent gets a 20 DV from range and he can sidestep to where that is needed. The blue click numbers are clever allowing a beefy version on the dial too.

Posted by: MantisWarrior on 5/26/2015 2:57:51 PM
cool to see that Marvel has it's own version of the Entities from War of Light now. but I guess her possessing a friendly turns her into an App.

@Prince of Orphans and The LE
I don't necessarily agree with either point but I do know that Wizkids does have problems on the backend with Licensing rights. The companies have to approve sculpts and likeness uses before they will allow full production. It would be awesome to see some other characters made besides the Big Names. I would love to see more variety like original Suicide Squad and the Power Pack, The X-kids, The Reavers

Posted by: Rab4630 on 5/23/2015 6:56:49 PM
Yes. Good point made with The Weird and the Ship. It's all about what sells. I'm a naïve romantic who often forgets about the bottom line. As a collector, I'd love to see some far out sculpts like the Sea Devils, Seven Soldiers of Victory, etc.
Thanks Man.

Posted by: Prince of Orphans on 5/23/2015 9:20:58 AM
@Prince of Orphans: I don't think Wizkids really listens to those kinds of requests. Part of the reason is because of licensing issues. I do believe they're trying to make popular sets and I do believe they want to make figures that we've never seen, but it comes down to cost and sell-ability. We certainly don't want to see another slow seller like the Hulk set, and I'm sure WK has tried (unsuccessfully) to get TMNT HeroClix... easily the most requested figures ever.

I think we're always going to see Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, etc in every set because those are popular characters that helps sell prodcuts. Players may complain about the lack of variety in HeroClix but the fact is that they buy because of popular characters or the power level of characters (i.e. they complain about power creep, but they go crazy over power figures and drive prices up for them on the secondary market).

Case in point The Weird or the Braniac ship convention exclusives -- people aren't nearly as interested in those as they are in the more well-known "spider-Ham".

Posted by: The Le on 5/22/2015 5:30:43 PM
Hey The Le, do you think you could create a wish clix section? A section we could post sculpts we'd like to see made. Then, quite possibly we could post a list on Wiz Kids Facebook and maybe have a voice in what gets made. I mean we all probably spend 100s and 100s of dollars a year on these things and it's be nice to get some we actually really want. I mean being surprised is nice, but still.
Don't get me wrong I love Capt. America, Batman, Iron Man, Superman, Thor, Wonder Woman etc. but do we really need 50 different sculpts of each when there are 100s of other cool characters they could make or remake.
Just a thought, man.

Posted by: Prince of Orphans on 5/22/2015 5:05:54 PM
Black Panther: Great figure and sculpt but do we really need him at 140 points? I'm concerned that his raw damage output at that point value will limit him to big games only. He can't pull enough weight in 300.

Pym/Ant Man: Alas poor Ultron, I knew him Hercules. A fellow of most nefarious jest... GREAT sculpt!!!!

@Immortus: Much like his Chaos War incarnation it is not so much that Pym is better than Ant-Man (dial wise) as that there are more situations when he will be your go-to. I'll certainly be starting him at micro size to get into range, then morph (whilst outwitting Chargers) at the right moment to unleash the Pym-Bomb next turn. When you include him in your force you are paying 100/50 points to include EITHER in your team, you only have to choose which to start with. I LOVE MORPH FIGURES!

@lord Logan
She is in the tournement set, like wol or fear itself

Posted by: Scruffy 612 on 5/16/2015 10:10:44 PM
Wait, if She Hulk is a prize, why is she uncommon?

Posted by: Lord Logan on 5/16/2015 6:45:37 AM
Is it me or does Hank Pyms dial trump ant man's dial? Why would hank Pym be more effective than Ant man? And for 100 points ant man is dealing very poor damage. But at least ant man can switch out into pym or others...With the right set up this guy could be very annoying.

Posted by: immortus on 5/15/2015 4:28:31 PM
"Standard stealth beaters" do NOT beat him. His trait doesn't state he's using stealth. It states lines of fire can't be drawn to him when he's adjacent to blocking terrain. A "standard stealth beater" has improved target:Ignores hindering or a team ability that ignores "stealth" Neither effect black panther. That is all I will say on this matter. When you play this game in front of a judge I will let him correct you.

Posted by: immortus on 5/15/2015 4:25:09 PM
JL52 FF Batma says you cannot draw lines of fire to him. WK has ruled that pulse wave can hit him. As for Panther, standard stealth character defeat works on him too. Charge / Hypersonic. My Central City team of Barry, Bart, Max and Jesse took out a Gotham City team.

Posted by: superfriend on 5/15/2015 7:46:38 AM
Mmmmk. You don't "know how to beat him" obviously. Even if had a character that ignores stealth he couldn't shoot black panther. His trait states you can't draw lines of fire to him she adjacent to blocking terrain. Pulsewave is as lo useless because although pulsewave Ignores EVERY THING, you still have to draw a line of fire first before activating it. So far I'm not seeing how you can defeat this figure with what you presented.

Posted by: immortus on 5/14/2015 7:52:32 PM
While I agree that the sculpt is fantastic. The dial I'm not impressed with. Comparing this one to the AvX version. Your getting one more life clix for 40 points and his range drops by one. Its not worth it. Inflating his points to give him more prestige since he is a SR? No way, the AvX Spider-Man who is only 125 points has a much better dial then this. Some of the recent Captain America versions that are less points then BP I feel are better. Both of the Daredevil's from Deadpool I think are better then this guy. As far as his trait goes its nothing special. I really hope I don't pull him in the tourney's since he is nothing special. We have seen his trait before in other characters and it never seemed to make them special or have them dominate a game. If I face him in a game I know what to do to beat him. Wait till he gets a token and shoot him with someone who ignores hindering/stealth, or just pulse wave him, his trait is useless then.

I LOVE THE BLACK PANTHER SCULPT!!!

Posted by: Gilly25 on 5/14/2015 12:44:23 PM
I'm excited for She Hulk. I really like her "Objection" and fourth wall joke. Her 130 point MAY be a little pricy but if so, not by much. Her 75 point though is really nice. Most other 75 pointers wouldn't be able to scratch her if they went one on one.

Posted by: Lord Logan on 5/12/2015 4:59:16 AM
Wondering who is reusing the WATX Magneto sculpt?

It's the Blue Marvel. A newer character in MArvel with Superman level powers. He got his powers through crazy Negative zone portal radiation(or somethin like that). And it's not quite the same pose. the arms are a little different. Oh and I was at the Gama show. That Hulk doesn't look near as goofy in person

Love that a new Noh-Varr is being released but what's up with his hands?

Posted by: AG on 12/12/2014 6:25:44 AM
Why the big noggin on Hulk? I keep having to buy Heroscape Hulks and glue them onto HeroClix bases because of the lackluster sculpts!

Posted by: Kragnorak on 12/10/2014 2:51:34 PM
That's because his is the op set. There is a movie set as well releasing with the movie.

Posted by: Gumby Arce on 12/10/2014 9:21:59 AM
Sounds like an interesting brick seems to reflect more on the comic story than the movie cant wait for it, since a new ultron will be made
