Deadpool Movie Review
Rude, Crude and… Absurdly Awesome!

If you’re a fan of Deadpool from his comic book adventures you already know he is not your future child’s father’s superhero. In fact I don’t think calling Deadpool a superhero is even fair or accurate. If anything he’s more on an antihero and a very unique one at that. What really makes the “Merc with a mouth” so unusual from other gun toting, sword wielding, spandex clad characters is his ability to break the 4th wall in the most absurd and hilarious ways.

In case you managed to somehow avoid the brilliant marketing campaign over the last several months, it goes something like this: Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds), a former Special Forces operative turned mercenary is diagnosed with cancer. In an attempt to find a cure, Wade volunteers for an experimental process and is subjected to a brutal procedure that leaves him horribly disfigured and with accelerated healing powers. Unbearable to look at, Wade forsakes his fiancée Vanessa (Morena Baccarin). He adopts the alter ego Deadpool and seeks revenge on the shadow organization that double crossed him.

The story reveals the titular title character’s origin largely in flashback as Deadpool tracks down his nemesis Francis aka Ajax (Ed Skrein). This brings viewers up to speed without taking the foot of the gas, keeping the films standard storyline secondary to the shenanigans of its hero. At its core, Deadpool’s narrative is about as unsophisticated as you can get. Boy meets girl, boy is done wrong, boy loses girl, boy seeks vengeance and needs to save girl in process. What makes this same old same old plot so damn entertaining is the wacked out mixture of mirth and calamity that is the character of Deadpool.

@ theRealMisterWilson- I like Deathstroke too another one of my faves since the beginning...but yes movie was bad, but you also spent the $ to see it too....

Booooo! This flick was awful! 0/5 stars. I can't believe millions of dollars were wasted on this ripoff character. A real bad mutha doesn't need a healing factor and Deadpool's costume is an eyesore. Apparently it takes a real man to rock the orange and blue!

The director decided to go the story behind the mask and The movie focused way to much on drama and love interest! And I atand by my previous comment full of typos.. 2 1/2 to 3 out of 5! ??

Movie was to dramatic. And it didn't capture deadpool split personalities, they movie decided to go the "story behind the mask" instead of just a random action comedy... The humor was way to perverted... A little bit is funny but this movie had way too much... Action scenes were way to fast blink and youd miss something... They focused way to much on a story line. Than just have Deadpool be Deadpool in random situations with random bad guys... The flash backs were really pointless and weak.... I know how Deadpool became Deadpool I just wanted to see him be be Deadpool... The funny parts are too quick and unmemorable... All the previews showed the funny parts... Pros.
2 1/2 to 3 out of 5 stars... Fox failed...

I am thinking of changing my costume to green. As in.. envy! I mean geez, your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man was the original wise-cracking scrapper, and yet every movie based on m... *ahem* him has only a fraction of the humor of this Deadpool flick. And he's not even a real hero!

It's almost like the Spidey movies were watered down to appeal to every demographic while the Deadpool movie was written with love to showcase the character. Oh well, maybe they'll get it right next reboot...
